Desciption
The trendsetting architect Rem Koolhaas has carried it out to perfection, whereas the next generation of international stars refined it even more, giving us the unconventional presentation of designs and ideas in the form of diagrams. This method of presentation is easy to understand when dealing with the client and can be communicated internationally, beyond language and cultural barriers – a product of our globalised world. Review
Well it’s not really a book about diagrams. Are there diagrams in it? Sure, but I was hoping for quality content covering various architectural diagrams. The author might have just made all of the diagrams or perhaps copy and pasted some. Either way it’s not good and it covers a very very small sector of the world of architectural diagrams. I wouldn’t recommend this book, in fact I donated my copy to a thrift store. If you’re looking for a quality architectural diagram book go with Precedents in Architecture instead—that’s if you want a legit scholarly experience. I love that book. It’s straight black ink on paper. Or for a more step-by-step book in color you could check out Diagramming the Big Idea—the organization isn’t great (it’s actually sort of confusing) but I promise you will be exposed to high quality content and detailed diagrammatic analysis. Sadly you will not encounter any of this with the book under review here.
